School Governor (Unpaid Volunteer Role)
The Trust is looking to recruit more governors who offer a mix different skills, experience, and local knowledge to work strategically and ensure the responsibility delegated to each LGC is delivered effectively for the benefit of local children. You do NOT need to have previous governor experience, induction and ongoing training will be provided. The time commitment, on average, equates to 1-2 days per month to include formal meeting preparation and attendance, ongoing professional development, staff recruitment, engagement with stakeholders including accompanied visits to get to know the school, its staff and pupils.
This is a hugely valued and rewarding role but is done on an unpaid volunteer basis, although out-of-pocket expenses can be reimbursed. N.B. All appointments will be subject to enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Certificate and Section 128 clearance.
